Sulfur Springs

Can I just say that I am so happy Mark is done with school?  It is so nice to have him around again on the weekends so we can do stuff together as a family.  This weekend, we decided to check out Sulfur Springs, a cool spot on the river that has small waterfalls to play in.  It was awesome!

4th of July Street Party

Ever since we moved in, we have been hearing from the neighbors about the amazing 4th of July street party that takes place every year.  We heard so much about it that we didn't make any other plans for the 4th of July.  And I have to say, the street party did not disappoint.  It was one of the coolest street party's I've ever been to.

We received an agenda a few days before the 4th of July, outlining all the events for the day.  At 9am, the street was blocked off and the fun begun.  There was face painting, sand tables, water games, scavenger hunts, raffles (we won 3!...actually, Mark's dad won 3, but he gave them to us), volleyball, street parade, bike decorating, bbq lunch, bake sale, and the oh so famous rocket car.  Mark's family was in town for the party, and our friends, the Harmer's, came too.

Before the party started, Mark's family was nice enough to help us with our lawn/garden.  I have no experience with gardening, and don't know the difference between a plant and a weed.  So Mark's parents showed us where the weeds are, cleaned up our yard, and helped plant tomato plants for us too.

The Harmer's on the rocket car...

...and us on the rocket car.  The rocket car started at one end of the street, and would take you down the street and around the block.  It was super fun, and Kaylie loved it.

Kaylie in the street parade...I think I need to get her a bike.

It was a super fun day, and we were all pooped by the end.  I hope you all had a Happy 4th!
